Foot Pain Caused by Neuromas

A neuroma is an area of swollen nerve caused when the bones of the toes pinch the nerve. This may occur because of abnormal bone structure and can be exacerbated by wearing shoes that are too tight. With this condition, you may experience sharp pain on the top of the foot that can radiate to the toes. Treatment includes injections, orthotics and possible surgery.
